Current eSearch version: Version 3.2 SP2 (16-May-08)
NEW FEATURES
Find out what new features have been introduced in recent versions of eSearch:
eSearch v3.1 and v3.2 are currently supported, including all Service Packs for these versions.
All versions prior to v3.1 are not supported by Iron Mountain.
As per our support policy, and previous notifications on this website, Iron Mountain hereby announce that support for version 3.0 has already expired.
We strongly recommend all users of v3.0 now upgrade to version 3.2.
eSearch is Iron Mountain's most advanced application for managing assets. It is a cataloguing and ordering system that our customers use to store descriptive information (metadata) on physical items that are stored in either Iron Mountain's or their own storage facilities.
eSearch is an application that can organise your information using a flexible data model - it can be used to store information on virtually any real-world scenario, so it is suited to the needs of different customers in different industries.
The point-and-click interface is intuitive and allows each user to customise it according to their own individual preferences. A desktop client and a web-based client are available. Context-specific help is available in each client, and a number of documents and interactive tutorials are available to get you started.
Every time you add a record to your database, you complete a Data Entry Form to add the additional information (metadata) you have chosen to record. You can also import your information in bulk into eSearch.
You can associate, or 'attach', electronic documents to the records stored in eSearch. These could be spreadsheets, word processor documents, digital photos or even audio/visual media.
Straight away you can search and retrieve records. eSearch offers a wide variety of searches, including wildcard, Boolean, fuzzy, phonetic, proximity, translation and synonym searches. Attachments can be included in your searches to help you find the information you need.
After retrieving the metadata, you can then create and track orders from storage for the items related to that metadata.
eSearch helps you to load data into the input tables from spreadsheets and other structured data. You can load attachments in bulk by referencing them in your spreadsheet. Common import settings can be saved as a template for easy reuse later on.
You are also able to export data based on your search criteria to text-delimited files. You can make changes to your data outside of eSearch, then update the original records in bulk using the same data loading tool.
eSearch can form part of your company's existing document retention policy. It allows you to define which documents you need to retain, rules for how long documents should be kept, and how documents should be destroyed.
